Syed Wasim Ur Rehman
Chief Executive Officer
Syed Wasim Ur Rehman has been working as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in Quaid-e-Azam Thermal Power Pvt Limited (QATPL) since January 2023. His vision is Continuous Improvement (CI) in all areas, especially emphasize on Training and Development (T&D) of the human resource at all levels and active participation from every team member to enhance company performance. Under his leadership, QATPL achieved many significant landmark milestones, one of them is the distribution of the first ever dividend of Rs. 3.2 Bn to shareholder marking a pivotal moment in the company's history.
Earlier he held the position of Chief Technical Officer (CTO) at QATPL, he joined the Company in July 2015. His professional journey includes distinguished tenures in esteemed organizations i.e. 1755 IPP PP11 GDF Suez KSA, 175 MW CCPP Daharki (FPCDL), 2700MW Rabigh PP (SEC) KSA and WAPDA. He started his career as Junior Engineer in 1990 from GTPS WAPDA (KAPCO), Kot Addu and later on served in various senior leadership roles such as Project Manager, General Manager Technical, General Manager Plant, Engineering Manager and Chief Technical Officer. He has overall 35 years multi-functional, multi-cultural/geographical experience and diversified exposure of Operation, Maintenance, Planning, Procurement, Performance, Erection, Testing, Commissioning, Project Development. His experience spans project management, technical & commercial aspects, including proficiency in Project Closeout and Arbitration.
Syed Wasim Ur Rehman holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from UET Peshawar and has actively pursued continuous professional development through various technical & leadership programs and courses throughout his career. He has done Level 3 certification from Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM), UK, in 2014 and participated in the online course “Leadership: A Master Class” led by Daniel Goleman in 2022. He has also completed an online course on Discovering Personality with Dr. Jordan B. Peterson focusing on the “Big Five” model of personality. His passion for learning is evident in his voracious reading habits and his unwavering commitment to self-improvement.
Syed Salman Hassan
Company Secretary
Syed Salman Hassan is working with Quaid-e-Azam Thermal Power (Private) Limited since its inception. He has diversified experience of over 18 years of company secretarial practices in energy sector. He holds MBA degree in Finance and is also a Fellow member of the Institute of Corporate Secretaries of Pakistan.
Shamsul Aziz
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Shamsul Aziz is a seasoned professional with proven success in financial and operations management to achieve the organizational mission. He developed leadership qualities with a solid record of contributions leading to improved financial and technical performance and enhanced internal controls. He has successful track record and in-depth experience of over 33 years of independently planning and handling projects from planning, development of feasibility studies to execution including dealing with project lenders, regulators and other Government agencies for their successful execution. He has solid background and expertise in managing the financial and operational affairs of a corporate entity of substantial size especially in Energy sector. He holds an MBA degree in Finance from IBA Karachi and is also a Certified Financial Consultant (CFC) from Institute of Vancouver, Canada. He is well versed with the dynamics of energy sector of Pakistan. He has worked in Siemens Pakistan for about 8 years, in Private Power & Infrastructure Board (PPIB) for one and a half years, and in Southern Electric Power Company Limited on top position for 15 years. He is associated with QATPL since June 2015.
Usman Saeed

Daud Aziz Khokhar
Chief Legal Officer
Mr. Khokhar is a graduate of University of Cambridge, United Kingdom with over a decade of PQE. Prior to joining Quaid-e-Azam Thermal Power (Private) Limited he was an associate partner at a legal 500 ranked law firm in Pakistan. Mr. Khokhar has extensive experience in contentious as well as non-contentious matters.
Fahad Amjad Khan
Chief Internal Auditor
Fahad Amjad Khan is a qualified Chartered Accountant from KPMG with a diverse experience in different sectors including Banking, Real Estate, Manufacturing, Retail and Public Sectors in IT, Audit, Finance and strategic decision making. Fahad has more than 20 years of Experience of Audit, Business Process review and Documentation, Business Plans, Budgeting, Costing, Projections, Cash flows, Accounting, Financial Management, Financial Reporting, Oracle Implementation.
Muhammad Ishaq Shakir
General Manager Operations
Muhammad Ishaq Shakir is working with QATPL as GM-Operations since September 2017.He has completed his Engineering in Electrical from UET Lahore in 2001 with honors. He has got an extensive work experience of ~ 22 years in power generation sector in construction, commissioning and O&M at different positions with different organizations i.e. working as Principal Engineer Operation in 1600 MW CCPP KAPCO, Section Head Operation on 225 MW CCPP Engro Powergen, Manager Operations with GE on 225MW CCPP Halmore, Manager Operations/Commissioning Manager at 120MW Coal/Bagasse Power Plant with Fatima Energy Limited. Mr. Ishaq has got very good understanding of CCPP operation & maintenance, ,performance, commercials and HSE.
